We started using Autoworks when our previous shop closed down and we had good experiences the first few times, though their rates are not cheap. (Not saying they are higher, but certainly not discounted, especially on parts). Unfortunately, the last two times we have taken my older car (a 2007) to Autoworks, something else has failed soon after. The car is older, so maybe not their fault, but they replaced a door latch, shortly afterwards the window stopped rolling up all the way (the window register stopped working right, in the same door they disassembled.) When they fixed the Window the trunk latch stopped working. (That seems oddly unrelated, but that it happened on the same day and isn't the first time, seems like a bit of a coincidence.) And every time they touch the car they want a diagnostic fee of ~$200, on top of the repair. When I took it in for the Window problem they wanted to charge a $220 diagnostic fee, but when I asked them if all they did was try the window button they said they would discount the fee. So, sounded like they wanted to charge me $220 to roll the window up and down, and when I asked the service writer for more details, I only got a vague answer and a lecture about how he did me a favor against store policy, but he never gave me an adequate explanation. When I called him about the trunk (thinking maybe it was a fuse or something from them disconnecting the battery or something), they said if they looked at it, it would be another $200 diagnostic fee unless they agreed it was related. This experience really undermined the trust they had built up so I wasn't willing to agree to pay the diagnostic in the blind. As a result, I have decided to look elsewhere.
